At Annenberg Media, my role as a Radio Producer led me to produce weekly episodes of our live show “From Where We Are.” My main duties were creating pitches and mentoring students on writing scripts on Newsboss, as well as voicing and editing audio packages on Adobe Audition.
Our coverage spanned from immigration, entertainment, local USC/LA stories, breaking news, and more. Here are some episodes I produced!
*Won Best Radio in the Student Media category at the LA Press Club's Journalism Awards!
In addition to “From Where We Are,” I was part of Annenberg Radio News’ coverage on the 2025 LA Times Festival of Books. With a team of around 10 journalists, we brought hourly broadcasts full of vox pops and exclusive interviews with participants, panelists, and exhibitors such as Stacey Abrams, Laura Numeroff, John Scalzi, Wilmer Valderrama, and more. Watch and listen to our broadcasts: Day 1 and Day 2.
VIDEO PACKAGE
For my JOUR 321: Visual Journalism final, I had to create a video package on a local story. I chose to report on José, a frutero who worked tirelessly close to my hometown. To me, it was important to highlight and take a deeper dive into just one of the many hard-working Latino individuals we come across daily. Watch his story below.

CAPSTONE PROJECT
Every journalism major at USC is required to take JOUR-414: Advanced Digital Media Storytelling, otherwise known as the Capstone class. For this course, our final project entailed an entire website including our own text piece, photos, videos, audio, and interactive design.
Mixing my interests in the entertainment industry and underrepresented voices, I chose to do my topic on the lack of original ideas in the industry over the years and how upcoming screenwriters navigate this issue. To view my capstone project, click here.
PODCAST EPISODE
One of my absolute favorite courses at USC was JOUR-407: The World of Podcasting taught by Megan Donis. Our final consisted of creating and editing a podcast episode on a topic of our choice. As a horror fan, I longed to research and dive into the role of women in the horror genre. Listen to my episode, Women in Horror, below!
DOCUMENTARY
JOUR 405 is a documentary production course where students spend a semester creating documentaries for Impact, an award-winning hour-long documentary show that with a weekly broadcast on Spectrum News 1 Network. My documentary, Harvesting Hope, focuses on the impact of gleaning and food harvesting on low-income communities. Coming soon!
As an avid cinephile, I was eager to take JOUR 430: Writing the Film Review taught by Justin Chang, Pulitzer Prize-winning film critic. For this course, we were tasked to watch a movie and write a review by the following week. Below are some of my reviews written for the course!
